1. Who we are

PlayCanada.com (“PlayCanada”, “the site”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is owned and operated by Vectiq Inc., a corporation incorporated in the State of Nevada, United States (Nevada Business Identification No. NV20263559745).

2. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PlayCanada.com and any content, tools, comparison tables, reviews, guides, newsletters and other material we publish on it.

By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of them.

3. What PlayCanada is — and what it is not

PlayCanada is an independent information and comparison publisher covering the regulated Canadian online gambling market. We publish news, explainers, regulatory guides and reviews of gambling operators.

We want to be explicit about the limits of that role:

  • We are not a gambling operator. We do not accept wagers, hold player funds, operate games, or offer any form of gambling.
  • We are not licensed or registered as a gaming operator or gaming-related supplier by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, iGaming Ontario, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, the Alberta iGaming Corporation, or any other Canadian gaming regulator.
  • You cannot open an account, deposit, or place a bet on PlayCanada. Any account or wager you place is with a third-party operator, under that operator’s own terms, on that operator’s own platform.
  • We do not provide legal, financial, tax or professional advice. Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in your province or territory.
  • Any dispute about a wager, an account, a payment, a withdrawal, a bonus, or an operator’s conduct is between you and that operator. We are not a party to it and cannot resolve it. Regulated operators are subject to the complaints processes of their own regulator.

4. Eligibility and age

The site is intended for adults in Canada who are of the legal age to gamble in their province or territory of residence.

The minimum legal gambling age in Canada is 19 in most provinces and territories, and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Where a page addresses a specific province, the age stated on that page applies.

You must not use this site if you are below the legal gambling age where you live, if you are excluded from gambling under a self-exclusion programme, or if accessing gambling-related content is unlawful where you are.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@vectiq.io and we will delete it.

5. Affiliate relationships and how we are paid

PlayCanada earns money from advertising and affiliate marketing. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one of those links and register or transact with an operator, we may receive a commission or fee from that operator. This costs you nothing and does not change the terms you receive.

Commercial relationships may exist with some, but not all, of the operators we write about. The presence, absence, position or prominence of an operator on this site is not, on its own, an endorsement, a recommendation, or a statement that the operator is suitable for you.

Where we say a placement is paid or a relationship is commercial, we say so on the page.

6. Editorial independence and accuracy

Our editorial standards are set out in our Editorial Guidelines. In summary: we do not promote unlicensed or offshore gambling operators to readers in provinces where a regulated market exists, commercial relationships do not buy a positive review, and factual claims are checked before publication.

We work to keep the site accurate and current, but the Canadian gambling market changes quickly. Regulations, operator terms, product availability, promotions and licensing status can change without notice, and pages may not always reflect the current position.

Operator terms always take precedence over anything published here. Before you register or transact with any operator, read that operator’s own terms and conditions and its current published information. Where our description of an operator’s offer conflicts with the operator’s own terms, the operator’s terms govern.

7. Third-party sites, operators and content

The site contains links to third-party websites, including gambling operators, regulators, support organizations and news sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, security, availability, privacy practices, or the products and services they offer.

Linking to a third-party site is not an endorsement of it. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk and governed by that site’s own terms and privacy policy.

Third-party trade marks, logos and brand names appearing on the site remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and editorial purposes only. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from those owners unless we say so explicitly.

8. Responsible gambling

Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money, and it carries real risk of financial and personal harm. If gambling is causing you difficulty — or you are worried about someone else — free, confidential help is available in every province and territory. Our Responsible Gambling pages set out the services available in each province, including the provincial helplines and the self-exclusion programmes operated by provincial regulators.

Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose, and never gamble to recover losses.

9. Permitted use of the site

You may read, share and link to our content for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You must not:

  • use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation;
  • copy, republish, scrape, systematically extract, resell or redistribute our content, in whole or in substantial part, without our written permission;
  • use automated systems — bots, crawlers, scrapers, harvesters — to access the site other than as permitted by our robots.txt, or in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its servers, or any connected system or network;
  • introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code;
  • interfere with the operation, security or availability of the site;
  • remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice; or
  • use the site or its content to promote gambling to people below the legal gambling age, or to promote unlicensed gambling operators.

We may suspend or block access to the site where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.

10. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, reviews, ratings, comparison tables, guides, graphics, images, page design, layout, the PlayCanada name and logo, and the compilation and arrangement of all of it — is owned by Vectiq Inc. or licensed to us, and is protected by Canadian and international copyright and trade mark law.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view the content for your own personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved. Quoting a short extract with clear attribution and a live link back to the source page is permitted; wholesale reproduction is not.

If you believe content on this site infringes your rights, contact us at support@vectiq.io with details of the material and your claim, and we will investigate.

11. Content you submit

Where the site allows you to submit content — comments, feedback, survey responses, or newsletter interactions — you are responsible for what you submit.

You must not submit anything unlawful, defamatory, misleading, obscene, discriminatory, infringing of anyone else’s rights, or promotional of unlicensed gambling. You must not submit anything if you are below the legal gambling age in your province or territory.

By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit and publish it on the site and in related material. We may remove or edit any submission at our discretion, and we are not obliged to publish anything.

12. Privacy and cookies

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies and similar technologies in our Cookie Policy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation, including Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and Quebec’s Law 25.

13. Availability and changes to the site

We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, suspend, restrict or discontinue any part of the site — including pages, features and content — at any time and without notice.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the content is accurate, complete, current or reliable, that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components, or that any outcome will result from your use of it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, condition, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable Canadian federal or provincial consumer protection legislation.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vectiq Inc., its directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or connected with your use of — or inability to use — this site, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

We are specifically not liable for gambling losses. Any money you stake, lose, deposit or fail to withdraw at a third-party operator is a matter between you and that operator.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or connected with the site is limited to CAD $100.

Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vectiq Inc. and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection laws of the province or territory in which you reside, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that province or territory where applicable law gives you that right.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be flagged on the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

19. General

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remainder continues in full force.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the site, and replace any prior terms published on it — including any terms published by a previous owner of this domain.

Language. These Terms are published in English. If we publish a translation, the English version governs in the event of any inconsistency, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
