Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
1. Who we are and who is responsible for your information
PlayCanada.com ("PlayCanada", "the site", "we", "us", "our") is owned and operated by Vectiq Inc., a corporation incorporated in the State of Nevada, United States, at 1887 Whitney Mesa Dr #4032, Henderson, NV 89014, United States.
Vectiq Inc. is the organization accountable for the personal information handled through this site.
This policy replaces any previous privacy policy published on this domain by its former owner. Vectiq Inc. is not related to, and does not act for, the previous owner of playcanada.com.
Privacy Officer. Pablo Ferreira, Director of Vectiq Inc., is our designated Privacy Officer and is accountable for our compliance with this policy and with applicable Canadian privacy law. You can reach the Privacy Officer at support@vectiq.io, or by writing to the address above marked "Attention: Privacy Officer".
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect through PlayCanada.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, where it goes, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
It applies to this website only. It does not apply to the websites of gambling operators, regulators or any other third party you reach through a link on this site. Those organizations have their own privacy policies, and once you leave PlayCanada your information is in their hands, not ours.
We handle personal information in accordance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, provincial privacy laws including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, and Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25.
3. What PlayCanada does — and what that means for your privacy
PlayCanada is an independent information and comparison publisher covering the regulated Canadian online gambling market. We are not a gambling operator. You cannot open an account, deposit funds or place a bet with us.
That shapes this policy in a way worth stating plainly:
- We do not collect or hold identity documents, dates of birth, banking details, payment card numbers or government identifiers.
- We do not collect or hold any record of your gambling activity, deposits, wagers, wins, losses or account status with any operator.
- We do not track you as an identifiable individual to any operator. Our operator partners report referral performance to us in aggregate commercial terms. We do not receive, and do not ask for, information that identifies you personally as a result of following a link from this site.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to gambling operators for their own marketing purposes.
4. Information we collect
4.1 Information collected automatically when you visit
When you browse PlayCanada, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information about your visit:
- IP address, which may be truncated or shortened depending on the service
- approximate location derived from IP address, generally at the level of country, province or city
- device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen size and language settings
- the pages you view, the order you view them in, how long you spend on them, and what you click
- the site or search engine that referred you, and any campaign parameters in the URL
- date and time of your visit
- server log data generated by our hosting and security providers, including requests made and errors encountered
We use cookies and similar technologies to collect some of this. How they work, what each category does, and how to control them is set out in our Cookie Policy.
4.2 Information you give us directly
If you contact us by email — to ask a question, report an error, make a privacy request or raise a complaint — we receive whatever you choose to send: your email address, your name if you give it, and the contents of your message.
4.3 Information you give us when you subscribe
If you subscribe to a newsletter, alert or similar service, we collect:
- the email address you provide, and any other details the signup form asks for
- your confirmation of consent, and the date, time and IP address it was given
- the province or territory you tell us you are in
- your confirmation that you are of legal gambling age in that province or territory
- once you are subscribed, records of which messages we sent you and whether you opened or clicked them
We send marketing email only with your express consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every message identifies us, gives our contact details, and contains a working unsubscribe link that we act on within 10 business days. You can unsubscribe at any time, and doing so costs you nothing.
4.4 What we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this site, and we ask that you do not send it to us. We do not collect personal information from anyone below the legal gambling age in their province or territory — see section 9.
5. Why we use your information
We use the information described above for the following purposes, and not for others:
| Purpose | What this means in practice |
|---|---|
| Operating and securing the site | Serving pages, keeping the site available, preventing fraud, abuse, scraping and attacks, and diagnosing technical faults |
| Understanding how the site is used | Measuring traffic and engagement in aggregate so we can improve our content, structure and navigation |
| Improving our content | Seeing which guides, reviews and news readers actually find useful, and where they get lost |
| Measuring advertising and affiliate performance | Understanding, at an aggregate level, which pages and channels lead to operator referrals — this is how the site is funded |
| Sending you email you asked for | Newsletters, alerts and related content, only with your express consent and only until you unsubscribe |
| Responding to you | Answering your questions, correcting errors you report, and handling privacy requests and complaints |
| Meeting legal and regulatory obligations | Complying with applicable law, responding to lawful requests, and keeping the records our regulators and advertising standards require |
We rely on your consent to collect and use personal information. For the basic technical information needed to serve pages securely, that consent is implied by your use of the site. For analytics, advertising measurement and any non-essential cookie, we ask for your express consent through our cookie banner before those technologies load, and you can withdraw it at any time.
We will not use your information for a new purpose without telling you and, where the law requires it, obtaining your consent.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We use third parties to run the site and understand its performance. They may process personal information on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we specify:
| Provider | What it does | Where it processes data |
|---|---|---|
| Website hosting provider | Serves the website and stores server logs | Outside Canada |
| Content delivery and security network | Delivers pages, filters malicious traffic | Global network, including outside Canada |
| Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) | Measures site traffic and usage | United States and other countries |
| Email and customer messaging platform | Sends the email you subscribed to and records your consent | United States |
| Transitional services from the previous site owner | Certain legacy content and advertising components are still served from the former owner's infrastructure while the site transitions to ours | Outside Canada |
Legal and protective disclosures. We may disclose personal information where required or permitted by law — to comply with a court order, subpoena, warrant or other lawful demand; to a regulator exercising its authority; to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or to protect the rights, safety or property of Vectiq Inc., our users or the public.
Business transactions. If Vectiq Inc. or PlayCanada.com is sold, merged or reorganized, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. It will remain subject to protections consistent with this policy, and we will tell you if the transfer materially changes how your information is handled.
Not shared with operators. We do not pass your personal information to gambling operators for their marketing. When you click an operator link, the operator receives the technical information your browser sends to any website you visit — including your IP address — and applies its own tracking under its own privacy policy. That relationship is between you and the operator.
7. Where your information goes — transfers outside Canada
This matters, so we state it directly. Vectiq Inc. is a United States corporation, and our service providers store and process information in the United States and other countries outside Canada.
That means personal information collected through this site is processed, stored and accessible outside Canada, including in the United States. While outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of the country it is in, and may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under those laws. Those laws may offer protections that differ from Canadian law.
We use contractual and other measures to require our service providers to protect personal information to a standard comparable to that required under Canadian law, and to use it only for the purposes we specify.
If you have questions about our use of service providers outside Canada — including which providers we use, what they do, and what happens to your information there — contact our Privacy Officer at support@vectiq.io. This is your right under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, and we will answer regardless of where in Canada you live.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as the law requires.
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Analytics and usage data | Retained in aggregate; identifiable elements retained no longer than 14 months |
| Server and security logs | Typically 30 to 90 days, longer where needed to investigate a security incident |
| Email correspondence with us | As long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and afterwards only where a record is required |
| Subscriber records and evidence of consent | Until you unsubscribe, plus the period we are required to keep proof of consent under CASL |
| Privacy requests and complaints | Retained as required to demonstrate our compliance |
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.
9. Age
PlayCanada is intended for adults of legal gambling age. The minimum legal gambling age in Canada is 19 in most provinces and territories, and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Where a page addresses a specific province, the age stated on that page applies.
The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal gambling age in their province or territory. If you believe a person below that age has provided us with personal information, contact support@vectiq.io and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Subject to the limits set by applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how it has been used and who it has been disclosed to
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw your consent to our collection or use of your information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice — including withdrawing cookie consent at any time through our cookie settings
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email, at any time
- Complain to us, and to a regulator, about how we have handled your information
If you are in Quebec, you also have the right to request that we cease disseminating your personal information or de-index a link to it in defined circumstances, and the right to receive the computerised personal information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@vectiq.io. We will respond within 30 days, or tell you why we need longer. We may need to verify your identity before acting — we will ask only for what is necessary to do so, and we will not use that information for anything else.
We do not charge for access requests, other than in the exceptional circumstances the law permits. Where a charge would apply, we will tell you the cost in advance and give you the chance to withdraw the request.
11. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information or your request, tell our Privacy Officer first at support@vectiq.io. We take complaints seriously and will investigate.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the privacy regulator with authority over your situation:
- Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada — priv.gc.ca · 1-800-282-1376
- Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta — oipc.ab.ca
- Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia — oipc.bc.ca
- Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec — cai.gouv.qc.ca
12. How we protect your information
We use physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold — encryption of traffic in transit, access restricted on a need-to-know basis, and contractual protections with our service providers.
No website or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach of our security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and report to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as PIPEDA requires, and to any other regulator with jurisdiction.
13. Cookies, tracking and browser signals
Our use of cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies — including which are strictly necessary, which are analytics and which are advertising-related, and how to control each — is set out in our Cookie Policy.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a withdrawal of your consent to non-essential cookies and tracking, and act on it automatically.
14. Links to other sites
This site links to gambling operators, regulators, responsible-gambling services and news sources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or their content. Read their privacy policies before giving them your information.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the "Last updated" date shows when it last changed. If we make a material change to how we handle personal information, we will give notice on the site before it takes effect.
